About that painting…

Inspired by the famous Édith Piaf song, I created this piece as an ode to optimism. Amidst difficulties, ugliness, and despair, the "rose-colored glasses" help us focus on the positive and beautiful. While acknowledging the negativity in the world, we can still appreciate its good side and cultivate gratitude. In my opinion, this approach is one of the best ways to care for our mental health, making us more capable of addressing what needs improvement.
This painting captures exactly that: a simple café & croissant that might seem like routine but can also be romanticized and appreciated as an extraordinary experience. We can imagine this scene taking place in Paris, a city full of contrasts—where it’s easy to become pessimistic and focus on the ugliness, yet there's also so much beauty to be found.
You can decide which color glasses you'd like to put on in this moment!
